An award-winning singer/songwriter, with three albums on Columbia and Epic as well as two more independently released albums to her credit, Pamela Polland’s ever increasing list of musical credentials reads like a veritable Who’s Who of artists from all points on the musical compass. Over the course of her over 50 years in the music business, this seasoned professional has both performed and recorded with such luminaries as Bonnie Raitt, Kenny Loggins, Jackson Browne, Van Morrison, Ry Cooder, Taj Mahal, John Denver, and a host of others. In 1970, Pamela joined the famed Mad Dogs & Englishmen Tour with Joe Cocker andLeon Russell, appearing on the resulting album as well as in the movie. Her songs have been recorded by, among others, Linda Ronstadt, Helen Reddy, The Byrds, Anita Carter and Bobby Bare. Pamela has also won numerous awards including 2 coveted gold records. After decades of success as performer, recording artist, composer and vocal coach, Pamela shifted focus to her life-long love of the Hawaiian culture. Living on Maui, she has studied hula with Kumu Gordean Lee Bailey, ‘ukulele and Hawaiian music with Hall Of Fame recipient Kahauanu Lake and Walter Kawai‘ae‘a, as well as the study of Hawaiian language. Pamela brings all her decades od experience and expertise to her online vocal lessons and ‘ukulele lessons.


Pamela started teaching voice at Family Light Music School in Sausalito, CA in the late 1970ʻs and opened her private practice in 1980. Over the decades, she  has developed  a broad teaching style focusing on correct technique to keep the voice healthy and strong, expandingrange, and confidence.

Pamela has developed a three tiered program  of vocal  exercises proven to be dramatically beneficial to students from absolute beginners to working musicprofessionals.

Having a long and varied career in music, Pamela is equally comfortable guiding students in a variety of contemporary genres of music such as pop, rock, jazz, blues, country, show tunes, etc., as well as working with students on their own original material. Your first vocal lesson with Pamela will be a voice analysis, and during that lesson, youʻll discuss your   goals with her, and she will recommend various pathways to achieving those goals.

Pamela began her career in Hawaiian music in 2003 as the bandleader for Keaolani, an  ‘ukulele  based  quartet specializing in traditional Hawaiian music. Keaolani was the “house band” for Hula Hālau Wehiwehi O Leilehua, a performing hula school based in Kula, Maui. She has been teacherʻs assistant to Walter Kawai‘ae‘a, reknowned Hawaiian musician and teacher since 2007, in  2017,  Pamela  was chosen to be the ‘Ukulele Experience teacher on Maui for the AirBnB Experience program. In 2020, Pamela was chosen again by AirBnB to be the ‘ukulele teacher for their new Online Experience program.

Pamela loves to work with absolute beginners through intermediate level students, and lessons can be private, semi- private, or even include a group of friends or families.

Using the platforms of Skype, FaceTime or Zoom, lessons are $50 an hour (USD) for private lessons, and the rates lower per person depending on how many are signed up for a lesson. To take online ‘ukulele lessons with Pamela, each student will need ‘ukulele and a “clip on” tuner. Pamela can make affordable recommendations as to where to purchase both  items online.
